Why is grounding yourself important?

Be Yourself’s Best Friend: The Art of Self-Love

Do you remember when you were a kid? I was 6 or 7, making friends was no problem. Friendship was so pure while we can be really hard on others at this age. Friendship was sincere during a fight that usually didn’t last longer than a few words or a good kick. It was that simple. Forgiveness was daily fare. “Sorry” a new beginning during a new game.

Re-membering the value and safety of your childhood, that warm, safe feeling of parental love, that intense conversation with a good friend,… it is an essential step towards self-love. Re-membering your value(s) and safety, your inner person full of love and happiness, your pure soul.

It is a step that was so clear during my childhood and that I suddenly forgot in my growth to adulthood. A step that I skipped and was no longer aware of. I often let myself be comforted, and was the first to take care of others who needed a shoulder. My experiences made me repeat this over and over again, as long as it was necessary to discover that the immense power of love was within myself, and I realized that I had to comfort myself. Open my heart and follow!

To be a comfort to yourself in moments when the deepest sorrow and illusion of loneliness seek a way out, that is the moment when you embrace yourself, a healing, your best friend of yourself. To bring your emotions out, to give them a place and to lay yourself to rest in your own arms, this is the turning point and the growth towards self-love, to be your best friend to yourself!
